Celler del Roure was founded in 1996 as a small family winery with the will to grow and improve by recovering traditional production methods and old varieties from this historic wine-growing area (Les Alcusses, 4th century BC). We like to learn from our ancestors.
At this time we grow Mediterranean grapes in 42 hectares of vineyards owned and another 36 hectares in lease or long-term contracts on various plots of limestone soils (at about 600 m altitude) in our town, Moixent (Terres dels Alforins. D.O.P. Valencia).
The Monastrell variety is the protagonist in our collection of "classic wines" Maduresa and Les alcusses. Elegant and mature wines aged in French oak barrels and foudres, always looking for finesse and freshness. This is our most classic Mediterranean style. We also make four "old wines" Parotet, Safrá, Vermell and the Cullerot white. For this collection, we vinify traditional minority grapes such as Mandó, Arcos, Garnacha tintorera, Verdil, Pedro Ximénez, etc. and we raised them in the buried clay jars that remained "asleep" in the "fonda cellar" (an underground gallery excavated two hundred years ago that houses 97 jars with capacities between 600 and 2,800 liters).

The past is the future. This is our (old?) New Mediterranean style.
